XRPUSD last printed 1.0670 into Wednesday's close, down from Monday's 1.0846 open. That is a drop of roughly 1.6 percent across the first three sessions. The week's high is 1.0852, set Monday, and the low is 1.0602, also carved out Monday. Since then price has drifted, with each daily close a touch below the last.
No scheduled high-impact release has hit yet this week. The headline that moved the tape came from the PBOC, which set the USD/CNY mid-point weaker than the Reuters estimate. A softer fix than expected leans dollar-firm, and that pressure has bled into risk assets. Thin Wednesday volume, well below Monday and Tuesday, tells you sellers have not needed size to keep price soft.
The calendar for the back half of this week is empty of scheduled events in the bundle, so the PBOC fix remains the live driver. Watch the next fix. If it lands closer to estimate, the dollar-firm bid that has capped XRPUSD may ease and let price probe back toward 1.0744. If the fix runs weaker again, the 1.0633 area stays under pressure.
As of Wednesday, 69.4 percent of positioning sits long and 30.6 percent short. That is a heavy long skew against a market that has fallen three sessions running. Crowded longs into a soft tape mean stops sit below, and a break lower can accelerate as those positions unwind.
Price is fighting the 1.0670 area, right at Wednesday's close and just above the 1.0633 session low. Hold 1.0633 and the round 1.0700 handle comes back into view as the first hurdle. Lose 1.0633 and Monday's 1.0602 low is the next reference. The same dollar-firm backdrop is worth checking against Bitcoin, which tends to lead the crypto complex.
