The US30 opened Monday at 52678 and finished the week at 53795. Price ran to a weekly high of 54741 on Wednesday before sellers stepped in. The weekly low sat at 52642, printed early Monday. Net, the index added roughly 1117 points, close to 2.1 percent, though the last two sessions gave back a chunk of the midweek surge.
This week's bundle carried no scheduled economic events or headlines, so the move reads as pure price action and flow. Monday and Tuesday did the heavy lifting, with the index climbing from 52678 to a Tuesday close of 54206 on the heaviest volume of the week near 101685. That two-day thrust set the tone.
The back half told a different story. Thursday reversed sharply, opening at 54448 and closing at 53883 after tagging 54543. Friday's session was thin, volume collapsed to around 9019, and price drifted lower into the close at 53795. The rally lost momentum well before the week ended.
The bundle lists no scheduled high-impact events for the coming week. With an empty calendar, watch how price behaves around the levels this week carved out. If US30 reclaims the midweek zone on rising volume, momentum buyers may re-engage. If the thin Friday drift continues and price slips under the week's structure, the early-week lows come back into focus. Cross-check index breadth against the Nasdaq 100, since divergence between the two often signals which side is leading.
As of the Friday snapshot, LHFX client positioning shows 57.2 percent long against 42.8 percent short. That is a modest long skew, not a crowded one. It tells you consensus still leans toward the upside after the weekly gain, but the split is close enough that a break either way has fuel on both sides.
The weekly high at 54741 is the first ceiling. If price closes above it, the round 55000 handle is the next obvious reference. On the downside, the Thursday and Friday closes near 53795 to 53883 form near-term support. If that gives way, the Monday open at 52678 and the weekly low at 52642 are back in play.
