SPX500 week ahead: what to watch after a green week, 2026-08-10

SPX500 closed last week at 7749.6 after a strong Tuesday push, and the new week opens with an empty high-impact calendar and a long-skewed crowd.

Where DOGEUSD closed the week

You watched DOGEUSD open Monday at 0.0732 and drift lower into Friday's 0.0695 close. The weekly high printed at 0.0734 early Monday, and the low reached 0.0682 on Wednesday. That is a net weekly move of roughly 0.0037, or about 5.1% to the downside, with each session closing near its lows.

What moved price

No scheduled economic events or headlines accompanied this week's move in the bundle, so the price action was driven by flow rather than a data catalyst. Monday set the tone with a sharp drop from 0.0732 to a 0.0702 close, a fall that erased most of the range in a single session. The rest of the week traded inside that Monday body, with buyers unable to reclaim 0.0710.

Volume tells part of the story. Monday's 4,051 reading was the heaviest of the week and it came on the down day. Volume then faded each session, bottoming at 664 on Friday, a sign that the selling lost momentum even as price failed to recover.

The week ahead

The bundle carries no scheduled high-impact events for DOGEUSD in the coming week. With no calendar catalyst, price is likely to take its cue from broader crypto flow. Watch Bitcoin as the sector lead. If Bitcoin firms and risk appetite returns, DOGEUSD tends to follow higher. If Bitcoin rolls over, the smaller-cap coins usually amplify the move to the downside.

Positioning

Client positioning sits at 73.1% long against 26.9% short as of 2026-07-31. That is a heavy long skew into a week that closed red. A crowd this one-sided means many longs are already offside near the lows, and further weakness can force liquidation that adds to selling pressure.

Levels to watch

The weekly low at 0.0682 is the first floor. If price closes below it, the round 0.0680 area is back in play. On the upside, buyers need to reclaim 0.0710 to shift the tone. If price closes above there, the Monday open at 0.0732 and the weekly high at 0.0734 become the next reference. You can track these levels live and open positions when your own read lines up by opening an LHFX account.
