How last week left NAS100

NAS100 opened last Monday at 28972.63 and closed Friday at 28371.21. That is a net loss of 601.42 points, or 2.08% on the week. The shape of the move matters more than the total. The index printed its weekly high of 30014.93 on Wednesday, then handed back the entire advance over Thursday and Friday. Friday traded from 28974.54 down to 28077.40, and Thursday carried the heaviest volume of the week at 314574 contracts, so the selling arrived with participation behind it rather than on a thin drift.

What this week is about

There is no scheduled high-impact release in our calendar for the five sessions beginning Monday 2026-11-02. That shifts the centre of gravity onto the unresolved reversal from last week. The index spent Monday through Wednesday building a trend that topped at 30014.93, then erased it in two sessions. Weeks without a headline print tend to be decided by whether the last directional impulse gets accepted or rejected, and the impulse currently in force is the Thursday and Friday sell-off. Friday's close at 28371.21 is therefore the pivot the first sessions have to resolve, either as a ceiling that caps recovery attempts or as a floor that holds.

The secondary theme is breadth across index CFDs. With no data to anchor to, index markets often move together on the same risk tone, so a reversal in one large-cap benchmark tends to show up in the others within the same session. Watch volume as a confirmation tool rather than a signal: last week's two down sessions both printed above the 277927 recorded on Wednesday, and a bounce on volume below that level reads differently to a bounce that matches it. Scenarios for the week

If the index reclaims Friday's open at 28954.63 early in the week and closes a session above it, the prior reference is Monday's close at 29371.90, and above that the Wednesday peak zone around 30014.93 comes back into discussion. If that reclaim attempt fails and sellers cap price under 28954.63, Friday's low at 28077.40 is the obvious test, with the 28000 round number sitting immediately beneath it. A third path is range acceptance: price holds between Friday's low and Friday's close for several sessions, which compresses the move and tends to leave the eventual break carrying more follow-through. Cross-check any of these against the S&P 500, since a divergence between the two large-cap benchmarks usually flags that one of them is moving on something narrow.

Positioning into the new week

Client positioning as of 2026-11-02 sits at 54.7% long against 45.3% short. That is a mild long skew, not a crowded one. It tells you the majority is treating last week's 2.08% drop as a dip rather than a trend change. A skew that modest leaves room in both directions, but it does mean a continuation below Friday's low would be pressing against the larger side of the book, which is often where acceleration comes from.

Levels to watch

Three reference points frame the open. Friday's low at 28077.40 is the nearest structural floor and sits just above the 28000 handle. Friday's open at 28954.63 marks where the final leg of selling began and now acts as the first upside hurdle. Above that, Monday's close at 29371.90 is the midpoint of the entire weekly range, and the week's high at 30014.93 defines the upper boundary. These are reference levels for orientation, not entry signals, and they carry no implied direction on their own.
