GER30 opened Monday at 25319.3 and closed Friday at 25692.2, a gain of roughly 372.9 points, or about 1.5 percent on the week. The rally built steadily, with Thursday's push from 25433 to a 25715.7 close doing most of the work and Friday printing the week's high at 25890.1 before easing back.
The main event lands Friday, 7 August at 12:30. US Non-Farm Employment Change carries a forecast of 88K against a prior 57K, alongside Average Hourly Earnings at 0.3 percent and an Unemployment Rate held at 4.2 percent. A US jobs surprise moves rate expectations, and index futures across Europe tend to react in step with that repricing.
Before Friday, the week front-loads US activity data. Monday, 3 August brings ISM Manufacturing PMI at 14:00 with a 54.0 forecast versus 53.3 prior. Wednesday, 5 August pairs ADP Non-Farm Employment Change at 71K with ISM Services PMI at 54.5. Tuesday adds JOLTS Job Openings at 7.42M. On the domestic side, German Final Manufacturing PMI is expected at 52.2 and German Factory Orders on Thursday at 0.5 percent, both secondary reads that can shade sentiment ahead of the payrolls print.
If Friday's payrolls print hotter than the 88K forecast and earnings hold or beat, the typical reaction is firmer yields and a knock to rate-cut hopes, which can weigh on index bids. If the number comes in cooler and the unemployment rate ticks up, softer yields have historically supported risk appetite and index buyers. Watch the ISM prints midweek as an early tell. A strong ISM Services read on Wednesday can set a firmer tone into Friday, while a miss tends to cap upside. Correlated moves in the Nasdaq 100 around the same data often lead European index reactions by hours.
LHFX sentiment shows 61.6 percent of open positions long and 38.4 percent short as of 3 August. That is a clear long skew going into the week. It tells you consensus is leaning with the recent uptrend, which leaves the crowd more exposed to a sharp reversal if the US data disappoints than to further upside continuation.
Friday's high at 25890.1 is the nearest overhead reference, with the round 25900 and 26000 handles just above it. On the downside, last week's Friday close at 25692.2 and the Monday low at 25176.3 frame the range the market built. If price holds above the Friday close early in the week, the record high stays in view. If it slips back through it, the mid-week lows near 25290 come back into focus.
