USDMXN week ahead: what to watch from 2026-07-20

USDMXN closed last week near 17.53 after a late-week bounce, and this week opens with a long-skewed book and no scheduled high-impact prints on the calendar.

How last week left ADAUSD

ADAUSD opened Monday at 0.1615 and closed Friday at 0.1661, a net gain of roughly 46 pips, about 2.85 percent on the week. The move was choppy rather than trending. Price dipped to 0.1549 early before Friday's session pushed it back up toward the weekly highs.

What this week is about

The economic calendar for this week carries no scheduled high-impact events for ADAUSD. That leaves price action driven by broad crypto flow and macro headlines rather than a single dated catalyst. With no dated print to anchor the sessions, momentum and positioning carry the story instead.

Watch how ADAUSD reacts around last week's range extremes. When scheduled data is absent, the first clean break of a level often sets the tone for the sessions that follow. Open an LHFX account to trade ADAUSD this week.

Scenarios for the week

If price holds above the Friday close near 0.1661 early in the week, the next obvious reference is last week's high at 0.1689. A clean push through there keeps the upper edge of the range in control. If ADAUSD rejects the highs and slips back, the mid-range near 0.1603 is the first level in play, and below that the weekly low at 0.1549 comes back into focus. Correlated moves in Bitcoin can drag altcoin flow either way, so track the majors alongside ADAUSD.

Positioning into the new week

Positioning shows 67.4 percent of open interest on the long side and 32.6 percent short. That is a firm skew toward longs going into the new week. A crowded long book means consensus already expects upside, and it also raises the risk of a sharper unwind if price fails to hold above the recent range and stops start to trip.

Levels to watch

Three reference levels frame the week. The weekly high at 0.1689 marks the upper edge of last week's range. The 0.1603 area acted as a mid-range pivot. The weekly low at 0.1549 is the downside marker. These are reference levels for context, not entry signals.
