ADAUSD midweek: where we are as price fades to 0.1898, 2026-08-03

ADAUSD sits at 0.1898 midweek, roughly flat from Monday's open after fading from the week's high near 0.1988.

Where USDMXN stands midweek

As of Wednesday's close, USDMXN sits at 17.2404. That is down from Monday's open of 17.3013, a move of roughly 0.061 lower on the pair, meaning the peso has firmed against the dollar so far this week. The week's high stands at 17.3415 from Monday, and the low is 17.2336, printed Wednesday. Price is trading right near that low.

What has driven price so far

No high impact data has landed on the pair this week. The move has come from broad dollar softness rather than a Mexico-specific catalyst. The one headline of note was the PBOC fixing the yuan reference rate weaker than the Reuters estimate on Wednesday. A softer fix kept the wider dollar bid contained, and higher-beta currencies including the peso pushed the dollar back through Tuesday and into Wednesday.

What's still ahead

The event calendar for the back half of this week is empty in the bundle, so there is no scheduled top-tier release to anchor Thursday or Friday. That puts the weight on price action itself and any dollar flow that carries over. If the dollar stays soft and USDMXN holds below 17.2500, the Wednesday low near 17.2336 stays the immediate reference. If dollar demand returns and the pair reclaims 17.2541, Tuesday's close, the range from earlier in the week opens back up. Watch how EUR/USD trades as a read on broad dollar direction into the weekend.

Positioning right now

As of Wednesday, LHFX client positioning shows 62 percent long USDMXN against 38 percent short. That is a long-skewed book betting the dollar recovers against the peso, even as spot has drifted lower all week. A crowded long side into a falling market is worth noting: it can mean traders are fading the move, and it can leave the pair exposed if those longs get flushed.

The level that matters today

The line in play is 17.2336, the Wednesday low. Hold above it and the pair keeps consolidating within the week's range. Break and close below it and the round 17.2000 handle becomes the next obvious area of interest. On the topside, 17.2541 is the level bulls need back to argue the down move has stalled. You can watch these levels live on your LHFX platform when you open an account and track USDMXN with our pricing.
