EURUSD midweek: euro slips toward 1.1534, week of 2026-08-10

EURUSD sits at 1.1534 midweek, down about 21 pips from Monday's open, with the pair grinding lower inside a tight range.

Where SPX500 stands midweek

As of Wednesday's close, SPX500 trades at 7734.8. That marks it down 6.5 points from Monday's 7741.3 open. The week's high sits at 7772, printed across Monday and Tuesday, and the low so far is 7715.5, tagged on Tuesday. Two and a half sessions in, the index is close to flat with a modest downward lean.

What has driven price so far

There is no scheduled event or headline in this week's bundle to hang the move on. Price action has been range-bound rather than headline-driven. Monday opened firm and pushed to 7771.5 before fading to close at 7747. Tuesday extended the fade, dropping to 7715.5 before recovering to 7732.5. Wednesday has been quiet, a tight band between 7725.7 and 7735 on light volume of 33,742 versus the roughly 183,000 seen earlier in the week.

What's still ahead

The bundle lists no scheduled events for the back half of this week. With the calendar empty, the two remaining sessions are likely to trade off the technical picture and broader index flow. If the low-volume drift continues into Thursday and Friday, the Tuesday range between 7715.5 and 7772 stays the frame. Watch whether the tape shows any conviction on a break of either edge, since a move without a catalyst tends to fade faster than one with a print behind it. The Nasdaq 100 can offer a read on whether any late-week move is broad or index-specific.

Positioning right now

As of Wednesday morning, positioning on the LHFX book runs 58.5 percent long against 41.5 percent short. That is a modest long skew. Consensus midweek leans toward the upside, but not by enough to signal a crowded trade. The flat price action against a long tilt suggests buyers are holding rather than adding.

The level that matters today

The line in the sand is Tuesday's low at 7715.5. Hold above it and the mid-range around 7734 stays the pivot, with 7772 as the ceiling to reclaim. Lose 7715.5 on any Thursday or Friday push and the round 7700 handle comes into view as the next area buyers would need to defend. If you want to track these levels live as the back half of the week develops, you can open an account with LHFX.
