SPX500 opened Monday at 7522.7 and closed Friday at 7749.6, a gain of about 226.9 points, or roughly 3 percent on the week. The bulk of that move landed Tuesday, when price ran from an open near 7607.9 to a close of 7749.2 and printed the week's momentum in a single session. The back half of the week traded sideways to slightly lower before Friday recovered the ground lost midweek.
This week's calendar carries no scheduled high-impact events in the bundle. That changes what you watch. With no data catalyst pencilled in, price action leans on the momentum built last week and on how the market absorbs Friday's close near the highs. A quiet calendar tends to keep ranges tighter until a headline forces a break.
Without a data anchor, follow-through becomes the story. The question is whether buyers who drove the Tuesday rally defend last week's close, or whether the midweek stall near 7791.8 caps the advance. Open an LHFX account to trade SPX500 this week.
If price holds above Friday's close of 7749.6 early in the week, the next obvious reference is last week's high at 7791.8. A clean move through there puts the round 7800 handle in play. If price fails at that ceiling and slips back, the midweek low near 7696.2 is the first area that matters, and below it the Tuesday open near 7607.9 comes back into focus. Correlated index moves are worth watching too; a synchronised push in the Nasdaq 100 often confirms or contradicts what SPX500 is signalling.
Positioning shows 58.5 percent long against 41.5 percent short as of the start of the week. The crowd sits net long, consistent with the recovery into Friday. A long skew of this size means a good deal of the bullish case is already expressed, so upside surprises face a market that is partly positioned for them, while a sharp reversal can force long liquidation.
Last week's high at 7791.8 is the upper reference, and the round 7800 level sits just above it. Friday's close of 7749.6 marks the pivot the new week opens around. On the downside, the midweek low near 7696.2 is the first support of note. These are reference levels for orientation, not entry signals.
