SOLUSD closed Wednesday at 100.02. Monday opened at 101.63, so the week to date is a loss of 1.61 points, or 1.58%. The high so far is 104.87, printed inside Monday's session. The low is 98.22, printed Tuesday. That is a 6.65 point range in under three sessions, and price has landed back on the round number it started the week just above.
Monday's push to 104.87 did not hold. Tuesday did the damage: price opened at 102.93, sold down to 98.22 and closed at 99.87. The macro tape behind it was dollar-side. The PBOC set its USD/CNY mid-point weaker than the Reuters estimate on Wednesday, and USD/JPY gave back a run to near five-week highs later in the same session. Wednesday's own range was narrow at 98.38 to 100.57, on the lightest volume of the three sessions. The sellers stopped. Nobody replaced them.
Our calendar carries no scheduled high-impact release for Thursday or Friday, so the back half of the week is a flow and dollar story rather than a data story. If the dollar keeps leaking the way USD/JPY did on Wednesday, the first thing SOLUSD has to prove is that it can clear Tuesday's 104.26 area, and until it does, rallies are still inside the Monday range. If the dollar firms instead and Bitcoin leads the complex lower, Tuesday's 98.22 becomes the reference point again rather than a one-off wick. Thin Wednesday volume means either scenario can move faster than the range suggests.
As of Wednesday, 61% of positioning is long and 39% is short. That is a crowd leaning into the dip after a 1.58% week-to-date decline, which is the opposite of capitulation. A majority-long book below the weekly open means any push back under 98.22 has stops sitting underneath it, and any grind higher has willing sellers taking profit into strength.
The fight is at 100. Price closed at 100.02 after failing to hold 100.57 intraday, so the round number is acting as the pivot rather than support. Hold above it and Monday's 102.93 close is the nearest reference overhead. Lose it and Tuesday's 98.22 low is the obvious place the market checks next.
