The JPN225 opened the week at 64,982 on Monday and closed Friday at 64,458. The index tagged a weekly high of 67,593 on Wednesday and a weekly low of 64,147 on Friday. Net, that is a decline of about 524 points, or roughly 0.8 percent from open to close, with almost the entire spike from Tuesday given back by the closing bell.
The week was defined by a single-day surge. Monday closed soft at 64,805, then Tuesday ripped higher, opening at 64,782 and closing at 67,440 after touching 67,471 intraday. That gain of more than 2,600 points in one session set the tone for the rally.
The follow-through failed. Wednesday stretched to 67,593 but reversed to close at 66,561. Thursday extended the fade to 65,362, and Friday sealed the retreat with a close at 64,458 on notably lighter volume of 65,592 versus the mid-week runs above 150,000. The rally ran out of buyers before the week ended, and price finished below where it started.
The bundle carries no scheduled high-impact events for the coming week. With no calendar catalysts flagged, price action is likely to track broader risk sentiment and moves in correlated equity benchmarks. If global index appetite firms, JPN225 has room to retest the mid-week zone. If risk appetite cools, the Friday low stays in focus. Watch how Nasdaq 100 trades, since Japanese index sentiment often follows US tech direction into the Tokyo session.
LHFX client positioning shows 54.3 percent long against 45.7 percent short. That is a mild long skew, close to balanced. Consensus leans toward a recovery, but the tilt is not extreme enough to signal crowded positioning. A near-even book means neither side dominates, and a sharp move in either direction could force the smaller side to cover.
The Friday low at 64,147 is the first line of support. If price closes below it, the next reference is the round 64,000 handle. On the upside, the Tuesday and Wednesday closes near 66,561 to 67,440 mark resistance. If price reclaims that band, the weekly high at 67,593 is back in play. If it rejects there, the reversal from earlier in the week points back toward the 64,458 close. You can track these levels live on the LHFX platform as the next week develops.
