NAS100 closed Wednesday at 29585.11. That is 57.29 points above Monday's 29527.82 open, a gain of 0.19 percent on the week so far. The high is 29736.73 and the low is 29397.85, both printed Tuesday. Three sessions in, the index has covered a 338.88 point range and now sits close to the middle of it.
Tuesday did all of the work. The index opened at 29556.60 and ran to 29736.73. Sellers then dragged it to 29397.85 before the session closed at 29474.14, a full 82.68 points below where Monday finished. There is no scheduled release and no headline in this week's data set behind that swing, so the move was positioning rather than news. Wednesday has been the opposite. The session opened at 29473.86 and held 29473.76 as its floor. From there it clawed back to 29585.11 on the lightest volume of the three days. If you also watch the S&P 500, compare the shape of Tuesday's reversal there before you read too much into a single index.
Our calendar for Thursday through Saturday is empty of high-impact releases, which puts the burden on price rather than data. That changes how the back half of the week can play out. If buyers extend Wednesday's recovery and the index takes back 29652.73, Monday's high, then Tuesday's 29736.73 peak is the obvious next reference. If Wednesday's bounce fades and 29473.76 gives way, the 29397.85 low becomes the level that decides whether this week's range holds or breaks. A quiet calendar can also mean thinner participation, and thin books widen the size of both moves.
As of Wednesday, 54.7 percent of positioning is long and 45.3 percent is short. That is a mild tilt toward the upside rather than a crowded one. Consensus midweek is close to split, which fits an index that has given back and then recovered most of its range in three sessions. A skew this shallow offers little contrarian information on its own, but it does tell you the Tuesday flush did not convert the book to bearish.
29585.11 sits just under the round 29600 handle, and that is the immediate friction point. Hold above it into Thursday and the 29652.73 to 29736.73 band is where sellers were last active. Lose it and 29473.76, Wednesday's low, is the first line, with 29397.85 behind it.
