EURUSD opened Monday at 1.15432 and closed Friday at 1.1557, a net gain of roughly 14 pips across the week. The path was not straight. Price dipped to a Monday low of 1.14998, climbed to 1.15565 by Wednesday, then dropped again Thursday before Friday's session pushed to a weekly high of 1.15802 and settled just off that peak.
The calendar this week carries no scheduled high-impact events in the bundle. That shifts the centre of gravity onto positioning and technical structure rather than a single data print. With no confirmed release to anchor a reaction, price action is more likely to be driven by carry-over flows and broader dollar tone.
Watch the wider backdrop feeding into the dollar. Recent commentary has USD/JPY erasing its post-payrolls drop, and oil forecasts remain split, with some houses looking for Brent near 80 dollars while others see it softening below 70. These are not EURUSD events directly, but they shape the dollar side of the pair and can spill into euro sessions. Open an LHFX account to trade EURUSD this week.
If price holds above Friday's close near 1.1557 as the week opens, the next reference from last week is the 1.15802 high. A clean break and hold above that opens room toward the round 1.1600 area. If instead the open fails to sustain above 1.1557 and rolls over, the mid-range pivot around 1.15236 comes back into view, and below that the Monday low near 1.14998 marks the prior floor. A softer dollar tone driven by moves in correlated pairs such as AUD/USD would tend to support the upper scenario, while a firmer dollar favours the lower one.
LHFX positioning shows 52.1 percent long and 47.9 percent short as the week opens. That is close to balanced with a slight long lean. A skew this shallow signals no strong consensus, so the crowd is not heavily committed in either direction. That leaves room for price to move on flow without a large book leaning against it.
The weekly high at 1.15802 is the clearest upside reference, sitting just under the round 1.1600 handle. On the downside, the mid-range close of 1.15236 held twice last week and stands as a first reference, with the Monday low at 1.14998 as the deeper one. These are reference levels for orientation, not entry signals.
