USDMXN weekly recap: peso firms as pair slips to 17.3334, 2026-07-27

USDMXN closed the week at 17.3334, down from a 17.4366 open, as broad dollar softness pulled the pair lower after a mid-week high near 17.5364.

Where ADAUSD closed the week

ADAUSD opened Monday at 0.1655 and closed Friday at 0.1680. The week low printed at 0.1528 on Tuesday, and the high reached 0.1755 on Thursday. Net, price added roughly 1.51% across the week, with most of the ground recovered after Monday's slide to 0.1550.

What moved price

The economic calendar for the week held no scheduled high-impact prints tied to ADAUSD, so price action tracked broad market flow. Monday sold off to 0.1532 before buyers stepped in Tuesday and Wednesday, lifting the close back toward 0.1614 on both days.

The wider tape was driven by currency moves rather than crypto-specific news. USD/JPY rebounded above 160 after a Bank of Japan decision and speculation of intervention, while the Australian and New Zealand dollars each rose on the day. That risk-on turn late in the week lined up with ADAUSD's push to 0.1755 on Thursday before it settled at 0.1680.

The week ahead

The bundle lists no scheduled high-impact events for ADAUSD in the coming week. With no confirmed catalyst on the calendar, price tends to track broad crypto sentiment and the dollar tape. When Bitcoin holds firm and the dollar softens, altcoins like Cardano have historically followed the risk-on flow higher. When the dollar strengthens and larger caps roll over, ADAUSD has tended to give back gains faster than it made them. Watch Bitcoin for the lead.

Positioning

LHFX client positioning sits at 67.6% long against 32.4% short. That is a clear skew toward buyers. A crowded long book means consensus already expects further upside, and it leaves the market exposed to a squeeze if support gives way, since long liquidations can accelerate a move lower.

Levels to watch

The Thursday high at 0.1755 is the first hurdle overhead. If price closes above it, that level flips to support and buyers set the next reference off the fresh high. On the downside, the Friday close near 0.1680 is the near-term pivot. If price loses that and slips under the Tuesday low at 0.1528, the week's opening region near 0.1550 is back in play. You can track these levels live on the ADAUSD chart when you open an LHFX account.
