Where SOLUSD stands midweek

SOLUSD last traded at 107.30. That is 3.89 points below Monday's 111.19 open, a loss of roughly 3.5% week to date. The high so far this week is 113.23, printed in Monday's first hours. The low is 101.56, printed during Tuesday's flush. You are looking at an asset that gave up almost 12 points top to bottom in two sessions and has clawed back about half of that.

What has driven price so far

The clearest macro marker on the tape this week came from Beijing. The PBOC set its daily USD/CNY mid-point weaker than the Reuters consensus estimate on Wednesday, a softer yuan fix than the market was positioned for. Risk assets read that as a tighter liquidity tone, and crypto took the hit first. Monday's 105.25 low and Tuesday's 101.56 low both came with heavy turnover, with Tuesday's volume at 63,840 against Monday's 44,457. Wednesday's session has been a different animal: volume is running near 10,008 so far and the range has compressed to 106.66 by 108.16. Sellers stopped pressing. That is the whole story of the bounce.

What's still ahead

There is no scheduled high impact release on our calendar for Thursday or Friday against this instrument, so the back half of the week belongs to flows and to the daily PBOC fix. If the fix keeps landing weaker than the consensus estimate the way Wednesday's did, the risk tone that pushed SOLUSD to 101.56 stays live and the recovery has to fight for every point. If the fix comes in closer to estimate, the pressure that capped Monday's 113.23 high eases and the week's recovery attempt gets room. Watch Bitcoin as the lead indicator here, because the broader crypto bid has moved first on each of this week's turns.

Positioning right now

As of Wednesday, 61% of positioning is long and 39% is short. The crowd is leaning into the bounce in a week that is still down 3.5%. That skew cuts both ways. It means there is a committed bid underneath, and it means a break back below Tuesday's low would be stepping into a pile of underwater longs rather than a clean slate.

The level that matters today

Wednesday's high at 108.16 is the immediate ceiling, with Tuesday's 108.90 high just above it as the real test. Hold above 106.66 and that cluster stays in play. Lose 106.66 and Monday's 105.25 low becomes the next shelf, with 101.56 behind it as the line that defined the week.
