SOLUSD weekly recap: Solana holds near 75.70 into 2026-08-10

SOLUSD opened at 76.12 and closed at 75.70, a slide of roughly 0.55% across a tight, range-bound week.

Where ADAUSD closed the week

ADAUSD opened Monday at 0.1939, printed the weekly high at 0.1988, and marked the weekly low at 0.1799 on Thursday before settling at 0.1821. That leaves a net weekly loss of about 0.0118, or roughly 6.1%. Price spent four of five sessions closing lower, and the recovery into Friday was shallow.

What moved price

The economic calendar for the week carried no scheduled high-impact releases for this pair. The dominant macro thread came from China, where the PBOC set its daily USD/CNY reference rate weaker than the Reuters estimate. A softer yuan fix tends to firm the dollar and pressure risk assets, and ADAUSD tracked that tone lower through midweek.

Volume tells the second half of the story. Traded activity thinned sharply into Thursday and Friday, with Friday's reading a fraction of Monday's. That drying up of participation capped any bounce and left the tape drifting rather than rebounding. Broader crypto risk followed a similar path, with Bitcoin setting the wider tone for altcoins like Cardano.

The week ahead

The bundle lists no scheduled high-impact events for the coming week on this pair. With the calendar quiet, watch the daily PBOC yuan fix and broader dollar direction. If the fix keeps coming in weaker than the Reuters estimate, the dollar can stay bid and risk assets can stay heavy. If the fixes land closer to or stronger than estimate, that pressure eases and gives risk assets more room to stabilise.

Positioning

LHFX client positioning sits at 67.7% long against 32.3% short. That is a clear skew toward the long side even as price fell all week. When the crowd is heavily long into a declining market, it points to traders leaning against the move rather than trading with it, which leaves the book exposed if selling resumes.

Levels to watch

The Thursday low at 0.1799 is the first floor. If price closes below it, the round 0.1800 area gives way with little structure beneath. On the topside, 0.1865 marked several intraday rejections. If price closes above it, the weekly open near 0.1939 comes back into view. You can track these levels live on our ADAUSD trading account.
